Roller Derby Hero:  Auld Reekie Roller Girls Captain, Janet Zillah. Yeah I could’ve said Suzy Hotrod or Bonnie Thunders, but I’ve given it a lot of thought and there’s never been a skater who has influenced me and supported me as much as this woman. She’s a machine. Just when you think it’s all over, we have 1 jam left and she brings it home. Not to mention she’s one of the coolest people I know.
What do you love about Roller Derby?  I love the freedom I get from skating. Zoning out, Everything slows down for a second. The adrenalin. The chase.   Sometimes I even think I enjoy getting hit. Just a little. There’s a sense of community in roller derby that we seem to have lost outwith, a togetherness that emanates such strength. And the fact that I’m surrounded by gorgeous women all the time doesn’t hurt either!
